9. … don’t cram for
exams. Successful students know that divided periods of
study are more effective than crams session,
and they practice it.
If there is one thing that study skills
specialists agree on, it is that distributed study is better than massed,
late-night, last-ditch effort known as cramming. You’ll learn more, remember
more, and earn a higher grade by studying in four, one hour-a-night sessions for
Friday’s exam than studying for four hours straight on Thursday night. Short,
concentrated preparatory efforts are more efficient and rewarding than
wasteful, inattentive, last moment marathons. Yet, so many students fail to
learn this lesson and end up repeating it over and over again until it becomes
a wasteful habit. Not too clever, huh?
When you cram, you are taking the shortcut,
and shortcuts never produce any real worthwhile results. Also, when you take
shortcuts, you feel rather rotten knowing that you could have done better but
didn’t. Shortcuts cut you short. You can’t plant watermelon seeds and harvest
fresh watermelons the next day. It takes time. Cramming for a test or project
and expecting to make a high score the next day is like planting watermelon
seeds and expecting to harvest and eat fresh watermelon the next day. Plus
cramming for a test or project doesn’t help you academically, so why even do
it. Plan ahead, prepare ahead. Give yourself plenty of days and weeks to
prepare for upcoming accountability opportunities.

. . . understand that actions affect learning. Successful students know
their personal behavior affect their feelings and emotions which in turn can
affect learning.
If
you act in a certain way that normally produces particular feelings, you will
begin to experience those feelings. Act like you’re bored, and you’ll become
bored. Act like you’re disinterested, and you’ll become disinterested. So the
next time you have trouble concentrating in the classroom, “act” like an
interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain eye contact with the
professor, nod occasionally, take notes and ask questions. Not only will you
benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and professor may also get
more excited and enthusiastic.
8.
. . . talk about what their learning . Successful students get to know
something well enough that they can put into words. Talking about something,
with friends or classmates, is not only good for checking whether or not you
know something, it’s a proven learning tool. Transferring ideas into words
provides the most direct path for moving knowledge from short-term to
long-term memory. You really don’t “know” materials until you can put it into words. So, next
time you study, don’t do it
silently.
Talks about notes, problems, reading, etc. with friends, recite to a chair,
organize an oral study group, pretend your teaching your peers. “Talk-learning”
producers a whole host of memory trace that result in more learning.

5.
Don’t sit in the back of the room. Successful students minimize
classroom distractions that interfere with classroom learning.
Students want the best seat
available for their entertainment dollars, but willingly seek the worst seat
for their educational dollars. Students who sit in the back cannot possibly be
their professor’s teammate (see no. 4). Why do they expose themselves to the
temptations of inactive classroom experiences and distractions of all people
between them and their instructor? Of course, we know they chose the back of
the classroom because they seek invisibility or anonymity, both of which are
antithetical to efficient and effective learning. If you are trying not to be
part of the class, why, then, are you wasting your time? Push your hot buttons,
is there something else you should be doing with your time?
6. … take good notes.
Successful students take notes that are understandable and organized, and
review them often.
Why put something into your notes you don’t understand? Ask
the questions now that are necessary to make your notes meaningful at some
later time. A short review of your notes while the material is still fresh on
your mind helps your learn more. The more you learn then, the less you’ll have
to learn later and the less time it will take because you won’t have to include
some deciphering time, also. The whole purpose of taking notes is to use them often.
The more you use them, the more they improve.

“The time is always right to do what is right”.
Reflection: when making the correct decision, the time is
always right because no matter what happens or what is happening the truth is
always better than a lie that is unreal. Choosing what’s right at the right
time does not exist. Choosing what’s right, does not need any time. For example,
telling your mom you don’t stay after school. You should let her know you’re
not because in the long run she will eventually find out and your consequence
will be harsher.

3.. ask questions. Successful students
ask questions to provide the quickest route between ignorance and knowledge. In
addition to securing knowledge you seek, asking questions as at least two other
extremely important benefits. The process helps you pay attention to you! Think
about it. If you want something go after it. Get the answer now, or fail a
question later. There are no foolish questions, only foolish silence. It’s your
choice.
4. Learn that a student and a
professor make a team. Most instructors want exactly what you want: THEY WOULD
LIKE FOR YOU TO LEARN THE MATERIAL in their respective classes earned a good
grade.
Successful student reflection well
on the efforts of any teacher; if you have learned you material, the instructor
takes same justifiable pride in teaching. Join forces with your instructor, they
are not an enemy, you share the same interest, the same goals-in short, your teammate.
Get to know your professor. You’re the most variable players on the same team. Your
jobs are to work together for mutual success. Neither wishes to chalk up a
losing season. Be a team player!

and what is immoral is what you feel bad after “.
This is saying that you should pay
attention to what’s right and what’s wrong before it’s too late and what you
did has no turning back. With every bad thing you do theirs going to be a
consequence , this does not mean that you will get in trouble right away or
that something will happen to you but with time you will learn that only because
you got away with it does not mean it was correct. Because one day you will
realize that by living your life by lying
to others, means your lying to yourself as well and will never learn from your
mistake therefor you will have no principal that will lead you to succeed and
be eternally happy.
Successful students
Successful students
1-2
Successful students exhibit a combination of successful
attitudes and behaviors as well as intellectual capacity. Successful
students…..
1. …Are responsible
and active. Successful students get involved in their studies, accept
responsibilities for their own education, and are active participants in it!
Responsibilities mean control. It’s the difference between leading and being
led. Your own efforts control your grade, you earn the glory or deserve the
blame, you make the choice. Active classroom participants improves in grades
without in cress in study time. You can sit there, act board, day dream, or
sleep. Or, you can actively listen, think, question, and take note like someone
in charge of their learning experience. Ether potion cost one class period.
However, the former method will require a large degree of additional work
outside of class to achieve the same degree of learning the letter provides at
one sitting. The choice is yours.
2. … Have
educational goals. Successful students have legitimate goals and are motivated
by what they represent in terms of career aspirations and life’s desires.
Ask yourself these questions: what am I doing here? Why have
I chosen to be sitting here now? Is there some better place I could be? What
does my present here mean to me? Answer to these questions represent your “hot
buttons” and are, without a doubt, the most important factor in your success as
a college student. If you’re educational goals are truly yours, not someone
else's, they will motivate a vital and positive academic attitude. If you are
familiar with what these hot buttons represent and refer to them often,
especially when you tired of being a student, nothing can stop you; if you
aren't and don't, everything can and will.

I generally come up with an
idea and do massive amounts of research then sometimes prepare an outline
before acually writing. I always print out the paper and come back to it the
next day and reread itr. That is the easiest way for me to catch my own
mistakes . I have to give my eyes a break from it, and if I just wrote it I think
it looks perfect. Biut if I look at it a day later. I almost always find
gramatical errors or phrases and sentences I just want to remove.

How I study for multiple exams, deal with multiply projects:
really it is my time manegment that I explained above. If I see I have multiply
things due or to stuidy for all ast the same time I sprand all my time before
hand, for example if I have a test on moday, and 2 test Tuesday then I will study for my.
Start studying for my next tes on the swcond half of Friday and
part of asaturday. Then Sunday night I can review for my Monday test
because I al=ready studied for it. When that test is over I can begin reviewing for
the other test.
My overall studying
method: I try to break it up over several days or at least two. Iget bogged out
if I try to pull an allnighter. How I overcome an initial bad . if I received a
low grade I probily kneqw it was coming because I didn’t prepare properly or I didn’t
use the right study habbit for that class. I usually try to go over what I think
I did bad.

different types of test or subjects. For me,
If I knew there was going to be an essay I would try to take

concepts focused on throughout the semester.
My time management secret: I always carry a planner with me.
I even use different color highlighters to show what each event on my calendar
is for. For example, pink is personal, yellow is school, orange is work, blue
is appointments. And green is for my sorority. Although I use white out
frequently, I can see in bright yellow that if I had that projects for finances
due on Tuesday. I can see in bright yellow that if I had that project due on Tuesday,
I need to start working on it on {the previous} Wednesdays so I can just get it
done. My friend has always been amazed at how early I get things accomplished
but that is really all I do.

Time management became a key factor
in my studying skills for college. Sometimes that meant writing out the terms
for the chapter read (even when it isn’t required) to better understand them. That
way when the midterm or test comes around I was able to understand what I was studying.
I started taking excellent notes in classes in college. I may have done this in
high school but in college I stated tying up the notes after class. This helped
me remember what I just went over in class then when I had a test one week
later I was more likely to remember then as well.
My overall studying method:
structured. One thing I learned was that I had to adapt or change my studying method
according the class. I couldn’t study for a religion class the same way I studied
for finance class. But making sure I had enough time to study for each
class-even if it meant carrying a planner with me at all times was a big part
of my success.

it’s a bad thing if you don’t do anything about it. Plan your time out so you
are completing everthing , that’s needed to get done and leave time to double
check. Write things down and have good time manegment skills. Ask for help it’s
probily the biggest thing I can say through. If you don’t understand go to the
office or find a classmate that does understand and is willing to help you. If you
try hard it will come to you. I find myself thinking that I will have to try

I put so much effort into this paper. It ended up being fewer than 12 pages but
